Any restaurant that the whole menu is offered in the morning is fine by me. I ordered a hot dog with french fries while everyone else was scarfing down breakfast dishes. Hali Deli offers a wide variety of options, something for everyone. We grabbed a cute little table up front, our server was charming and the dining room filled up quickly, so I suggest arriving before 11am on the weekend. CASH ONLY The ATM did not work while we were there. Bring a fist full of dollars so you can order everything. Do not skip the hand cut fries.

This was our last meal in Halifax before we flew out and so happy that we chose the Hali Deli!

Service was super friendly and welcoming, even though there was only one server (possibly the manager?) working a full dining room. This guy was a total pro!

We ordered the Ruben sandwich ($13.99) and the Lox Shmear Platter ($8.99) with a side of kosher dill ($2.00). The winner here was definitely the Ruben - the meat was so soft and succulent (melt in your mouth!) and it came with a side of chunky fresh cut fries. Lox was also tasty but kinda paled in comparison to the Ruben. Seriously, just get the Ruben.

Hali Deli has the recognition of being featured on TV's "You Gotta Eat Here!" and I fully agree with this endorsement!

Excellent chicken noodle soup, just needs to be a bit hotter.
    Good sandwich, soup combo.
    Waitress was nice.
Only real downside, owner smoking a lot out front, bad second hand smoke entering the restaurant.

I've eaten bagel with lox all over NYC and I honestly don't think there is any better Available there, than you can get right here at Hali Deli.

Food was good (potato latke was excellent and eggs cooked to perfection but the hollandaise lacked flavour and started to split which means it was cooked improperly) but the service was just awful. Not only did the server have zero personality but she was the most inattentive hospitality worker I've ever come into contact with. I had to flag her down numerous times to ask for more coffee, ketchup for the table, our plates to be cleared, and our bill. While I'd love to give it another try for the food, I don't think I could deal with the awful service again.
